One of the things that I found to be very interesting during the grant writing process is that multiple people are needed to compose an exceptional grant. Thinking about it as a whole, with corporate companies it would make sense to need a small team of people to complete it because there are so many different aspects that need to be covered. Another thing that I was surprised about after reading this chapter was that there is so much work that is needed to insure that you are awarded the grant. It seems like the more work you put outside of the actual grant writing, the chances of being awarded the funds is much higher. Work would include things like credibility on social media and having a good network that shows how invested the company is and also fundraising was mentioned. There are also several other ways to build a company’s profile and credibility that could help the process of being awarded the funds.
